Bunker Hill Covered Bridge is one of two original covered bridges left in North Carolina. It was built in 1895. It was originally built as an open span but was covered in 1900, first with shingles and later with tin. It is also possibly the last wooden bridge left in the US with the Haupt Truss construction. In 1994 it was restored and in 2001 it was designated as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. This was definitely worth the trip to visit. Subscribe Here
