Fort Fisher to Southport Ferry Ride across the Cape Fear River. The cost to ride the ferry is $7 per crossing for a carload and it’s a great way to get back and forth between Fort Fisher and Southport. It takes about 30 minutes to cross. If you were to drive from Fort Fisher to Southport it takes about 50 minutes. I say let someone else do the driving and save some gas. Pro tip – only feed the seagulls from the back of the boat.
